We strongly encourage you to read this manual completely, as we believe it'll give you some new insights for the usage of your module.
But for now, you can start playing with the module after the following actions.
We assume that you successfully installed the PA Module. If you haven't, please see Installing the Module. We also assume that you have the basic information about DNN modules, such as deploying, menus and adjusting settings.
Deploy a Module Instance
Go to any page you want. Preferably, it would be an "admin-only" page, not to be seen by the visitors.
From the "Control Panel", choose "The Funnel".
Pane choice is important here. The template given here is designed for "vertical" display, so it's recommended that you use "Right Pane" or "Left Pane". If you don't have such panes in your skin, go on with your own best choice.
Go to the Management Center
From the DNN context menu, choose "Management Center". This is where you can control most things for your module.
Click "Quick Start"
From the "Management Center", click "Quick Start".
Start the "Quick Start" Procedure
In "Quick Start", you'll find an explanation about what will be done. Take a quick glance of this page and just click "Start the Procedure". Note that, there's another link nearby : "Delete the 'Quick Start' Files". After you are competent enough to use the module, you can re-visit here and delete all the synthetic data by using this link.
Procedure Successful
If the procedure is completed successfully, you receive the following message.
You receive an error message, if you try to "Start the Procedure" while the synthetic data is already present. If you want to re-create the synthetic data, first use "Delete the 'Quick Start' Files".
Adjust the Settings
Just go to the page where you deployed "The Funnel", and click "Settings" from the module context menu.
- Make the settings as
Display Type = Standard
Number of Slots = 3
- Choose the "QuickStart - Vertical" template from Template combo box
- Then click "Init Slots".
For now, leave the other parameters as they were.
Test and Observe
Now you can go to the page you deployed "The Funnel". Use "Refresh" button a few times to test the behaviour of the module. After you don't need this synthetic data no more, then you can delete it by using "Delete the 'Quick Start' Files" in Management Center | Quick Start.
Sometimes, your server reads from the cash preventing you to see the random rotation instantly. To prevent this, set the module cash to "zero". You can set it from the "Settings".
Improve
You can create all kinds of templates with using just simple HTML and the special Tokens. Also you can use our free templates that you can download from the web site, http://dnn.destech.net/ . From the main page, go to Modules | The Funnel | Resources.
