Best Practices for "The Funnel"
The Funnel - Best Practices

"The Funnel" offers many diverse methods of usage, yielding different results.

Here are some of our suggestions. If you send us your own unique practice, we can happily write here .

Good luck!
Managing Content and Nuggets

Preparing Nuggets is the only overhead of the module. But this is a crucial task to obtain a good  sample profile of your content.

Nuggets are summary droplets of your pages, and it cannot be extracted automatically. Only a human eye can prepare a striking and attractive summary.

So, the best practice may be preparing the nugget set first.
Standart Usage

This is just the way we intended to use "The Funnel". The purpose of this usage is to suggest some other pages to your visitors.

Probably, your visitors arrive to your "Landing Pages". By this way, you make them stay longer.

The output of this usage

Usage of a vignette on Right Pane or Left Pane is a good practice. Here I used a vertical template with 3 slots. I reserved the first and second slots for funneling specific pages and let the last slot bring a random one.

If the page you deploy the module has significant associations with other pages, you can select one or more Single Nugget slots while reserving one or more random nuggets. You may never know what the visitors may be interested in. Thus leaving at least one random slot is a good practice.

You can observe this practice in our article DotNetNuke & Google Analytics.
Random Content Usage

By this way, you can create "Tip of The Day" or "Daily Quote" application. Or just you can display random contents that you prepare.

Tip of the Day
"What to do when a file is deleted and the 'Documents' module gives error?"

When you delete a file associated with a "Documents" module instance, you receive an error message. The only solution is to re-upload this missing file, to the original folder.

"But what will happen if you don't remember the name of the file?"

In this case, you should refer to the database table "Documents". You'll notice entries like "FileID=289" in "URL" column. You can now refer to "Files" table. Following this example, you can temporarily change the" FileID" of URL column, with an ID already present in "Files" table.

After the "Documents" module instance is functional again, you can change the document association from the module interface.
